Naim has launched a firmware update for Mu-so 2nd Generation, Mu-so Qb 2nd Generation, Mu-so Wood Edition and Mu-so for Bentley Special Edition, available via the Naim App

We are delighted to introduce yet more listening options for our award-winning Mu-so 2nd Generation family of wireless speakers, with a free software update enabling TIDAL Connect. TIDAL Connect allows you to explore all the rich features of the TIDAL App, and stream your choices in superb quality direct to your Naim speaker. You can continue to enjoy core TIDAL streaming functionality via the Naim App, if you prefer. 


Please note the new TIDAL implementation is also dependent on users running at least version 5.22.3 (iOS devices) or 2.22.3 (Android devices) of the Naim App.

 

How to update to Firmware 4.3

To ensure your update goes smoothly, please follow these instructions:


•    This update is only for Mu-so 2nd Generation, Mu-so Qb 2nd Generation, Mu-so Wood Edition and Mu-so for Bentley Special Edition.

•    Ensure your phone or tablet is running the latest version of the Naim App – that’s version 5.22.3 (iOS devices) or 2.22.3 (Android devices) or later.

•    Your Mu-so 2nd Generation, Mu-so Qb 2nd Generation, Mu-so Wood Edition and Mu-so for Bentley Special Edition needs to be on the same network as your phone or tablet. Wi-fi should be fine, though a direct Ethernet cable connection gives greatest stability.

•    Open the Naim App and choose the Mu-so 2nd Generation, Mu-so Qb 2nd Generation, Mu-so Wood Edition and Mu-so for Bentley Special Edition to be updated – please note, do not try to update more than one speaker at once.

•    Click on the ‘Cog’ icon on the top right of the screen, which will take you to the settings menu. 

•    Choose ‘Check for Updates’ from the menu, which will show Firmware 4.3 ready for download.

•    Keep the App open throughout the whole update process. If you close the App, you will interrupt the update, which will not complete.

•    Be patient – this is a significant update. Depending on your network set-up, it could take anything from 10 minutes to an hour. 

•    Finally, once the update has finished and the status LED is white, please switch your unit off from the wall for 30 seconds and then switch it back on, to re-initiate the network set up of your product.
